Nova Iskra, Zemun, Belgrad, RS
Petokraka studio designed the interior of Nova Iskra’s second creative hub in Belgrade, in the upcoming district of Zemun. Where entrepreneurs, students and activists meet researchers and companies, collaboration is key – the open office space invites to inspire each other. The light-flooded rooms with high ceilings facilitate well-being and freedom of the mind. Transparency plays a crucial role not only in the business concept of the hub, but also in its interior. Only glass walls and light, translucent curtains divide the space while fluently connecting it with the exterior. The terrace and couch-corner offer a view onto the city and are places of retreat and relaxation, next to which silent phone booths and meeting rooms provide an environment for high concentration. In the interior, Petokraka studio contrasts its own clean lighting designs with the brick walls and raw concrete ceilings, giving the rooms a rustic and artistic flair. With Nova Iskra Zemun the studio created a workspace that connects people and ignites creativity.
Petokraka is an interdisciplinary studio working on the cutting edge of interior architecture and design. Petokraka is run by Milica Maksimović and Aleksa Bijelović, both trained architects based in Belgrade. The studio’s expertise is creating spaces with clear lines but an unconventional concept, often playing with industrial elements of the building next to carefully designed details and furniture, and always applying an element of surprise. Milica and Aleksa work with clients from a broad spectrum and approach each project as a new, creative challenge with an intuitive, flexible and engaged mindset.
